Swim Lessons

General Information for All Swim Lessons

Teacher-to-student ratio is 1:4 for group lessons and 1:1 private lessons. Other ratios may be used as noted.

Swim lesson instructors are students/ teachers trained in CPR and First Aid with experience working with children.

During Lessons
Parents are permitted on the pool deck and must remain under the shade structures or in the grass areas. Only current participants are permitted in the water. Children not participating in swim lessons must be supervised at all times. Parents may supervise children in the concession area to allow free movement and not disturb lessons.

Missed Classes
Staff’s goal is to make up every missed class. Fridays are reserved for rain-out or holiday make-up lessons only. If extremely uncooperative weather causes multiple cancellations or you are unable to attend a make-up session, the District cannot guarantee make-up lessons.

Hotline Information
Swim Lesson Hotlines will be updated approximately 30 minutes before program times. Staff is diligent about giving ample cancellation time, but it is hard to predict the weather and conditions can change quickly. Please note that the staff may be forced to cancel classes within 30 minutes of a program start time. Programs will take place during rain as long as there is no presence of lightning or thunder. For information on cancellations, call the pool at 630-513-4377.
